Karen and I have been married since July of 1980. We are both very fond of dogs and have had many over the years.
We moved into Oakridge in June of 2002 and have really enjoyed the lifestyle. The Country Club and golf course add a nice feeling to the neighborhood and there are always people out doing things.
I am the Vice-president of the Oakridge Neighborhood Association and I am leading the Communication Committee consisting of a monthly newsletter and Web Site; www.oakridgena.com.
I started working at Texas Instruments in May of 1979 as an Electronics Engineering Technician. TI had a really good educational program which allowed me to complete my degree. I have had various jobs at TI mostly controlling hardware with software.

Ringo and Roxy (August 2007)
Dudley: Karen had Dudley when we first met. He was an Old English Sheepdog with all that goes with that. He had a definite eye for the bitches so we had trouble keeping him in the fence. We finally had him fixed and he would still get out of the fence; just to sit on the other side wondering why he was their.
Shane: He was an absolutely majestic tri-color collie. He was the first and only dog that was pure breed and also the first that I took through obedience training. We still get sentimental every time we see a full sized collie.
Boogie: Shane got out of the fence and had puppies with the neighbors Spitz. Boogie had the intelligence of the Collie with the stubbornness of the Spitz. He did terrible in obedience but would have excelled in clicker training; but it had not been invented yet.
Gus: A neighbor's dog had a litter and Gus was the only white one. The mother was Rottweiller and Blue Healer and the father was an Aketa. Gus weighed over 100 lbs and turned more yellow. I named him after Gus in Lonesome Dove because of the white hair and I had just finished reading the book. Everybody loved Gus and Gus loved everybody.
Roxie: I adopted her from the Garland Animal Shelter when she was a round 4 months old. We have gone through years of obedience and agility training. Roxie is an absolute joy and probably the most intuitively smart dog I have ever seen. I estimate her to be part Sheltie and part Australian Shepherd. She was born in 2002.
Ringo: He is a Border Collie - Australian Shepherd mix and was born in December of 2006. We adopted him from the Richardson Humane Society expecting him to be rather large becaseu of his feet. He is 49 pounds at 8 months and will proably gain another 10 pounds. He has gone through puppy school and I plan to take him to agility training soon.
Cat
Lisa: At the time we adopted Lisa we did not know anybody with the name. Of course; after that we have had many friends named Lisa. Lisa did get very neurotic and the only people she could relate with was Rob and Helen. I was always nice to her but she stayed hidden most of the time. We only knew she was alive by the absence of food in her bowl.
I have been painting since high school. My grandfather was an artist and I was always interested. Now I just dabble occasionally because I have so many other interests (golf, cycling, TV, etc...). I hope to study and paint full time after retiring in a few years. Here are a few of my paintings.
