ONA Recipe Box -- Trifle

This is an excellent and easy light dessert. Either make one big trifle or individual trifles. But, use clear glass dishes so everyone can see the beautiful layers. This works well with strawberries, or raspberries, or blueberries, or peaches.

Ingredients

2 pounds fresh or frozen fruit
1 angel food cake (OK to buy one from the grocery store bakery)
1 container lite non-dairy whipped topping
6 individual parfait glasses or 1 large trifle bowl

Preparation Instructions

Thaw the fruit per package directions if frozen. Tear the angel food cake into small chunks. Start with a layer of cake. Then add a layer of fruit and a thin layer of whipped topping. Repeat until filled, ending with whipped topping on top. To serve, put a spoon in individual parfait glasses and serve. If one large trifle, make sure everyone sees its beauty before spooning into bowls.
